Finding the right makeup products that don’t irritate my skin, doesn’t look cakey, is the right shade for my skin tone and is inexpensive has taken some time and finally after 10 years of trial and error – not forgetting that hideous blue eyeshadow with highlighter pink blusher phase. I feel like my everyday makeup products are finally doing me some favours.

The Look

I wanted a look that is easy to create in 15 minutes and includes products that all can fit in my handbag if I’m on the go or in a rush. I have combination-oily skin and suffer from bad pigmentation and rosacea around the sides of my nose so finding a makeup look which solves all those problems I’ve finally got down with just 8 products. Now I don’t always follow the same routine I go by how I feel each day, so if I want a more fuller brow I’ll start there first or if I want a really bronzed look I’ll focus more time to bronzing.

The Base

L’Oreal True Match will forever be my foundation of choice and is probably the only product I don’t switch up on now and then. Usually, once I’ve run out of a product I’ll sift through beauty blogger reviews to see what the next best product to try is but never will I cheat on my true match foundation it’s just perfect for my skin and I love everything about it. I start by blending out my foundation with a stippling brush, followed by concealer then take my Hula Bronzer for contouring and warming up of the face. Finally, I set it all with my translucent loose powder for that mattifying look.

The Eyes

I use my Hula Bronzer for my eyes as well as contour/bronzer, the colour is a perfect deep matte nude which creates just the right amount of definition for my everyday eye. I start by taking my loose powder as my transition shade and then just carve out the crease blending upwards then crossing over to the lid with a very soft hand to give a more blended look. Finished off with a few coats of mascara.

The Lips

My lips have always been prone to be chapped so finding a lipstick that is long lasting and nourishing at the same time is a godsend for me. I never leave the house without my Rimmel Kate its the perfect nude/peachy shade and goes with every outfit option meaning for those days where I’m rushing around the house with my toothbrush debating whether my jeans need an iron because I give myself the extra 30 minutes in bed, it’s the excellent product to finish my face.
